How to Take Measurements

Precise instructions for choosing the perfect size of school uniform. Follow these simple steps to ensure the uniform fits perfectly.

Thin Clothing

Take measurements on bare body or thin underwear (t-shirt, tank top). Thick sweaters will distort the results.

Soft Tape

Use a soft measuring tape. The tape should fit snugly against the body but not overtighten it.

Freedom of Movement

When measuring circumferences, place two fingers under the tape — this will provide the necessary freedom for comfortable wear.

1. Height

Measure without shoes. The child should stand straight with their back against a flat wall. Measure the distance from the top of the head to the floor.

Use a flat book, placing it on the head parallel to the floor, to make an accurate mark on the wall.

2. Chest Circumference

Wrap the tape around the widest part of the chest, the tape should pass under the armpits and across the shoulder blades.

Make sure the tape is parallel to the floor.

3. Waist Circumference

Measure the natural waistline (the narrowest point). The child should not suck in their stomach.

If the waist is difficult to find, ask the child to bend slightly to the side — the waistline will be at the crease.

4. Hip Circumference

Wrap the tape around the most prominent points of the buttocks. The tape should be strictly horizontal.

If there is a protruding belly, slightly loosen the tape in front.

5. Sleeve Length

Measure from the shoulder seam (where the sleeve begins) to the wrist bone. The arm should be slightly bent at the elbow.

6. Pants Length

From the waistline (where a belt is usually worn) along the outer side of the leg to the desired length (to the middle of the shoe heel).

The easiest way is to take pants that currently fit the child perfectly and measure them.
